These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legal agreement between you and the Pandynova team ("we") regarding your use of ReadWise English (the "App"). Please read carefully.
By using the App you acknowledge you have read, understood, and agreed to the entirety of these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the App.
1. Service Description
The App is an AI-powered English reading learning tool offering:
Level-graded English book reading
AI-assisted word explanations, sentence analysis, deep-study content
SM-2 spaced-repetition vocabulary review
Personalized chapter exercises and learning tracking
Audio reading by chapter
The App is offered with a free trial period and paid subscription, see section 4.
2. Account Registration and Responsibility
You must register an account using Sign in with Apple.
You are responsible for safeguarding your Apple ID credentials. You bear consequences of account misuse, though we will assist if you notify us promptly.
Each account is limited to use by a single individual; sharing or transferring accounts is not permitted.
You must be at least 13 years old. Users aged 13-18 should use the App with guardian permission.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Use crawlers, automation scripts, or other means to mass-scrape the App's content (books, AI-generated explanations, vocabulary library);
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to obtain the App's source code;
Abuse the AI query interface (abnormally high request frequency, non-learning purposes);
Upload or distribute unlawful, infringing, or harmful content;
Impersonate others when registering an account;
Use the App for any commercial purpose without our written authorization.
Violation of any of these clauses may result in suspension or termination of your account without prior notice.
4. Subscription Terms
4.1 Subscription Types
The App offers auto-renewing subscriptions. Specific prices and billing periods (monthly/yearly) are as displayed in the App Store.
4.2 Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically 24 hours before the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before expiry.
Renewal fees are charged via the payment method linked to your Apple ID.
4.3 Cancellation
You can cancel anytime via Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
After cancellation, the subscription stops renewing at the end of the current billing period; no refund is given for fees already paid, but you retain access until the period ends.
4.4 Refunds
All refund requests are handled by Apple. Submit refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com. We have no authority to process refunds on your behalf.
4.5 Free Trial
Where the App offers a free trial, the trial is limited to one per user. After the trial ends, the subscription will automatically convert to paid unless cancelled at least 24 hours before trial end.
4.6 Price Changes
Subscription prices may be adjusted. Price increases will be communicated via in-app notification and email in advance, and you have the right to cancel before they take effect.
5. Intellectual Property
5.1 The App's Content
The App's code, design, UI, brand, and AI prompt engineering belong to the Pandynova team.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use them for commercial purposes without written authorization.
5.2 Books and Third-Party Content
English books in the App come from the public domain (copyright expired) or legitimately licensed sources.
Copyright in these books belongs to the original authors or rights holders. We provide only the reading and learning interface.
5.3 AI-Generated Content
The App generates word explanations, sentence analysis, and deep-study content via Anthropic's Claude API.
This AI-generated content is for learning reference only and is not guaranteed to be fully accurate. Please report errors.
Copyright attribution of AI-generated content follows Anthropic's terms of service.
5.4 Your Content
Your in-app learning records, vocabulary notes, etc. belong to you.
You grant us the limited license necessary to process this data to provide the service (not including for advertising or resale).
6. Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is", with no guarantee of uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or suitability for any particular purpose.
The App is a learning aid and does not replace formal English instruction or test preparation. Learning outcomes vary by individual.
AI-generated explanations may contain factual errors, cultural misinterpretations, or imprecise linguistic explanations. Please use independently and cross-reference authoritative dictionaries and textbooks where necessary.
We are not responsible for service interruptions due to force majeure (natural disasters, government actions, cyberattacks, third-party service outages, etc.).
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, profit-loss, or data-loss damages arising from your use of the App;
Our total cumulative liability shall not exceed the subscription fees you have paid us in the past 12 months;
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection laws.
8. Service Changes and Termination
We may add, remove, or modify features at any time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms.
You may terminate your use anytime via My → Settings → Delete Account.
Provisions on intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution survive termination.
9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan).
Disputes arising from these Terms shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation. If unsuccessful, disputes shall be submitted to the People's Court of competent jurisdiction at the location of the Pandynova team.
10. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification and email. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms; if you disagree, please stop using the App and delete your account.
